Cross Section: Links

Geometrical definition of structural elements within the cross section plane or in longitudinal direction

The cross links defined here may be used in segments to define beams by assigning this cross section. The positions of beam begin and end as well as the beam nodes have to be input here in the cross section. In the segment, these beams will be enumerated and properties will be assigned.

SettingDescription
Name

The name is used as reference in the segment. If different cross sections are used in the segment, the same link names may be used in different cross sections

Segment point step

The beam may be positioned within the cross section plane (0) or it may have a longitudinal component, i.e. the beam ranges from the current segment point to the segment point that is chosen by the step width.

Position1 and position 2

These positions defines the beam begin and end. If there is a cross section discontinuity at the segment point, the selection of before or after segment point is imported. Eccentric distances are determined by the specified node positions (s.below).

Part 1 and part 2

Part 1 and part 2 defines the positions of the beam nodes. Eccentric distances to the positions 1 and 2 are allowed. The used parts can be of type node or of type beam.

Eccentre 1 and eccentre 2

Eccentric distances in longitudinal directions.

Note: Presently not supported.
